E101: Feeding people with Paul Turner

Updated: Aug 16, 2020

Paul Turner, International Director and Co-Founder, of Food for Life Global tells us how the organisation pivots in times of crisis including supporting the communities affected by the 2004 Tsunami , as well as the 2010 Haiti earthquake.

Paul makes a point about food being the great communicator; we’re seeing increasing coverage about the poor food culture across many countries, a sign of increasing inequality in ‘developed’ and in ‘wealthy’ countries, with so many adults and children either overweight or obese. We also see here in the UK that many people are resorting to food banks.

Whether it’s not enough food, or poor quality food – these are issues highlighting inequalities in society, and it’s vital that the charity sector is helping to remind us of.
